Over the time in this course I have described my ideal customer as a senior citizen who has trouble with mobility and would benefit from having a access ramp leading to their front door. I want to go into a little more detail and explain some interesting facts about the prototypical customer. My customer is a male or female that is 65 or older in age. They are the type of person that wakes up at 5:00am in the morning and makes a pot of coffee while sitting down and reading the local newspaper. Some read the newspaper digitally while others stick to print. The customer may be healthy but have issues with their legs or hips that cause them to use some type of mobility device to move around their home. Their hobbies can range from spending time with their grandchildren, playing Bingo or some other type of game with friends. They enjoy being able to leave their home so they can still experience all that life has to offer and need that extra help getting in and out of their home. The type of car they drive is larger model sedans. Most of the time the color of the vehicle is very modest. It can range from gray, white, black, and navy blue. The customer likes their vehicle to be large so they have room while driving and do not feel jammed into the vehicle. Also the larger sedan gives them room in the backseat and trunk to load their walker or wheelchair. When they are at home and watching television they enjoy the morning and evening news. They also enjoy day time talk shows and some even like watching soap operas. Many still love sports and enjoy watching college and pro football. They enjoy sitting back and watching a baseball game take place. The sports help them go back in time and allow memories to run through their heads. Most of my customers do have children who play a major role in their lives. Their children are able to help my older clients make decisions that are best for them and help them get to and from appointments and other events they wish to attend. They also have grandchildren who they spend as much time as possible with and play a big part in their happiness and overall time. The customers enjoy reading action and mystery novels. They enjoy titles that were published in the 50s and 60s and are not interested in publications that are taking place today. My prototypical customer is affiliated with different political parties. Most of them are voters and want to be involved in political decisions but in order to be a customer of mine they do not have to be a Democrat or Republican specifically. They are all over 65. Some feel very old as their health is not in the best condition. Others feel great and besides some mobility issues are able to live life on their own. My customer wants to feel safe and comfortable in life. They do not want to feel like they have to be uncertain when it comes to leaving and entering their home and want to take all necessary precautions.
Some of the things I have in common with my customer is that I prefer modest colors when it comes to choosing a vehicle. I currently drive a gray F150 truck. I also enjoy watching the morning and evening news because I feel it keeps me up to date with current events. I love watching sports, especially football and baseball. I enjoy reading books and mostly books that were written during a older time period. I think I share some of these attributes as my customer because for the most part I am a very modest person. I enjoy the little things in life and cherish as much as I can while being on this earth. Though my customers are 30-50 years older than me I believe they share this same belief in life and somehow that is what connects us.
If I was creating your product, that would be the exact ideal customer I would see. You did a great job matching your ideal customer with your pictures that you have up. They are the exact customers that you have described in your post! I also agree that elders share the same belief in life which is what connects us all no matter the age.
ReplyDeleteHey Garrett,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post and it is very long! Also, great job choosing pictures of people who would be in your target market. It is very true that the people who would be using your product would be elderly people in need of assistance going up stairs.
Hey, you did a great job with this assignment. I really like the way you discussed your customer and the way you added pictures. Really good post.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThis was a awesome post. I really enjoyed the detail you went into describing the avatar. I also enjoyed how you gave three images of what you believe your customer would look like. I thought this was a good touch because it is hard to narrow down your customer basis. I like how you went into a lot of detail on how you related to your customers.
Garrett, great in depth picture given here and I really understand your customer. If I was to not know what an elderly person who was in need of a ramp was, this would describe them perfectly. This is the best one that I have personally read so great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Garrett!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I liked hearing about the characteristics of your customer avatar. I also really enjoyed how you included pictures and brought the senior citizens using mobility devices alive! It was a good idea for you to compare yourself to your customer so that you can really put yourself in their shoes. I can also understand how it would be hard to put yourself in a senior citizens shoes. But overall, good job!
I love your custom avatar! Once again I applaud your ability to be so thorough! You have a very good handle on your prototypical customer.
